Currently, we only accept volunteers with specific skills in metal fabrication, mobility design, or welding. We also welcome experienced volunteers with either physical therapy or occupational therapy skills.
The Foundation does not accept short term volunteers. We prefer a minimum commitment of at least 3 months.
Volunteers are expected to obtain visas for Thailand on their own and are asked to provide their own housing, food, and transportation.
Inasmuch as volunteers become a part of our extended Disabled Center family, we ask that all volunteer candidates do their utmost to learn some basic Thai language, as well as to accept and respect Asian (especially Thai) values and culture.
The Chiang Mai Disabled Center is located at the heart of the “old city” of Chiang Mai. We are ½ block from the Sunday walking street, and located within easy walking distance of hotels, guest houses, and a wide variety of both Thai and foreign restaurants.
Chiang Mai is a small, safe city located at the foot of Doi Suthep mountain and less than 30 minutes by car or motorcycle from experiencing lush and unspoiled tropical nature.
In the past, we have welcomed volunteers from many countries around the world including Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and both north and south America.
